The Rainbows’ road trip to the Pacific Northwest won’t officially begin until Thursday after Tuesday’s game at Portland was canceled due to rain.
The game will not be made up.
Hawaii coach Mike Trapasso said he would have staffed the game against the Pilots (13-3), who are off to the second-best start in school history.
Hawaii (14-7) travels to Spokane, Wash., for a four-game series against Gonzaga (12-6) beginning Thursday at 3 p.m.
The Rainbows, who received three points in this week’s ESPN/USA Top 25 poll, and the Zags have similar RPIs. Hawaii is currently rated 45, while Gonzaga sits at 49.
