UH soccer team lands Swedish prospect
Jennifer Cafferky signed a national letter of intent to play for the University of Hawaii, head women’s soccer coach Michele Nagamine announced Wednesday.
Cafferky, a member of the U-17 Swedish national team, will enroll in the fall and attempt to be the first European recruit to suit up for the Rainbow Wahine.
Fujikawa tied for 88th after first found
Moanalua alum Tadd Fujikawa shot a 1-over 72 in the first round of the eGolf Professional Tour’s Irish Creek Classic in North Carolina.
He is tied for 88th, 10 shots behind Ireland’s Seamus Power, who is the leader after a 10-under 62.
UHH splits with Grand Canyon in softball
Brittany Spencer drove in two runs as Hawaii-Hilo beat Grand Canyon 6-4 in the first game of a doubleheader split on Wednesday in Phoenix.
In the second game, the Antelopes (15-9, 6-2 Pacific West Conference) held the Vulcans (13-6, 8-5) to just two hits in a 9-1 victory.
