Hope Arakawa drove in a pair of runs and Leisha Yamauchi got the win as Moanalua beat Roosevelt 5-4 in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Red softball game at Stevenson Middle School on Tuesday.
Na Menehune needed a run in the top of the seventh to deny the Rough Riders their first win of the season. Moanalua sits at 5-3, two games behind first-place Castle, while Roosevelt dropped to 0-8.
Dori Ann Sugai, Ciana Russ, Chrissi Omalza and Yamauchi joined Arakawa in pairing hits for Na Menehune. Maho Wada, Brianne Leong and Monica Aguito each had two hits for Roosevelt. The Rough Riders scored four runs in the first inning but were held scoreless after that
