Winona Pauline pitched a six-hitter with nine strikeouts as No. 5 Kapolei beat No. 2 Mililani 4-1 on Thursday in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West softball game.
The host Hurricanes scored three runs in the fourth inning.
Kapolei and Mililani are now tied atop the division at 8-2.
Stacia-Al Mahoe and Kacee Navarro each batted 2-for-3 for Kapolei.

Austin Reese squeezed in Alan Ibanes with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as host Waianae beat Kapolei.
Pinch hitter Sean Stevens-Sadomaru led off the inning with an infield single, and was sacrificed to second by Chasetin Nash-Santiago. Ibanez tied it at 1-1 with an RBI triple to right-center. After consecutive intentional walks to load the bases, Reese put down a 1-0 pitch, which scored Ibanez.
Waianae’s Jobe Cabral pitched a six-hitter with three strikeouts.
