California and Hawaii split two matches at the "Clash of the Titans" boys volleyball tournament on Friday night at Punahou.
Mira Costa, ranked No. 4 in the nation, struck first. The Mustangs swept Hawaii Baptist 25-18, 26-24, 25-19 despite an impressive performance by Michael Fisher of the Eagles. After taking an emotional second game, Mira Costa rolled over the Eagles in the third until a late rally.
Punahou, ranked No. 2 in the nation, looked just as impressive against No. 25 Corona Del Mar, beating the Sea Kings 22-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-18.
The tournament concludes today when Hawaii Baptist and Corona Del Mar play at 5 p.m. at Punahou, followed by Punahou vs. Mira Costa.
