Man punches officer responding to fight
A 38-year-old man allegedly punched a police officer in the face Saturday night while the officer was trying to break up an argument in Waianae, police said.
The officer was not seriously injured, police said.
The officer was the first to respond to an argument involving several men shortly after 10 p.m. The suspect allegedly punched the officer in the side of the face. He was subdued and then arrested for investigation of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
Woman escapes patrol car after DUI arrest
A 20-year-old woman pulled over for investigation of drunken driving in the Keeaumoku Street area early Sunday morning was later arrested after she fled from a police car.
The suspect was originally stopped and arrested at 3 a.m. for drunken driving but escaped from a police vehicle, police said. She then fled into a parked vehicle.
When police ordered the woman out, she got out and ran away while another woman, 21, harassed and interfered with officers, police said.
The first woman was later arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and escape. The second woman was arrested on suspicion of harassment and resisting arrest.
