Servco elevates Alan Young to statewide role
Alan Young has been promoted to senior vice president of auto retail at Servco Automotive.
Young, 55, will oversee all nine Servco retail dealerships selling the Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Subaru, Suzuki and Chevrolet brands.
"Alan has led Servco Lexus in an exemplary fashion, and we have great expectations for him in his new expanded role," said Rick Ching, president of Servco Automotive. "In addition, he exemplifies many of our Servco shared values, including excellence, achievement and responsibility for results."
Young is a graduate of Punahou School and a Hawaii Kai resident.
Since 2004, Young had served as group vice president and general manager for Servco Lexus, a position in which he was responsible for daily operations of Servco Lexus Honolulu and oversaw operations for Servco Lexus Maui. He has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry in Hawaii and California.
Lunch Bunch features old, new muscle cars
Gearheads mad for Mopar will be treated to new, high-horsepower and vintage muscle-car treats as part of the Auto Lunch Bunch "Kars at the Kurb" display Tuesday.
The old-school vibe will be represented by Gil Dias’ 19691⁄2 Plymouth Roadrunner, with its 440-cubic-inch V-8 engine and six-barrel carburetor.
Cutter Dodge will provide a 2012 470-hp Dodge Challenger SRT-8 Yellow Jacket for ogling.
Also yellow with images of a bee throughout, the paint job on the sister-model 2012 Dodge Charger Super Bee won’t be at the event, but it adds a bit of deja vu, given the "K-G-M-Super-B: Superb" marketing of a local TV station decades ago.
The luncheon speaker will be Rick Blangiardi, general manager of local CBS affiliate KGMB-TV as well as KHNL-TV, the NBC affiliate, now branded as "Hawaii News Now."
The cash-only cost of the monthly event at the Waikiki Yacht Club is $14.25, which includes the meal, drink and tip. Reservations are needed for a head count and are taken by Bill Maloney at billmaloney15@aol.com and by Ed Kemper at 225-2965.
