Kailua received the top seed in Division I and Waimea is tops in Division II for next week’s Wally Yonamine Foundation Baseball State Championships.
The 12-team D-I tournament begins Tuesday at Les Murakami Stadium and ‘Iolani School fields.
Following Kailua in the seedings are Mid-Pacific, Waiakea and Baldwin, all of whom receive first-round byes and begin play Wednesday.
Other teams in the D-I tournament are Moanalua, Pearl City, Kaiser and Castle of the Oahu Interscholastic Association, Kamehameha and Punahou of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, Hilo of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation and Maui of the Maui Interscholastic League.
Following Waimea in the D-II seedings are Waipahu, Seabury Hall and Kamehameha-Hawaii. The eight-team tournament starts Wednesday at Hans L’Orange Park.
The other four teams in Division II are Kalaheo and Waialua of the OIA, Maryknoll of the ILH and Konawaena of the BIIF.
