WILSON SUPREME WITH SYMPHONY | 1. YES ROCKS THE CONCERT HALL | 2. Yes bassist Chris Squire greeted longtime friend Barbra Armentrout backstage after the group's two-hour concert April 27 in the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Armentrout and Squire were introduced 22 years ago by a mutual friend -- production director Mel Baister -- when she was celebrating her birthday.

LUNCH CONCERT OPENS MELE MEI 2012 | 3. Kimo Kahoano, right, welcomed Shawn Pimental and Yoza to the Mele Mei 2012 opening luncheon and media day April 27 at the Willows. The luncheon was the first in a series of Hawaiian music events leading up to the 35th annual Na Hoku Hanohano Awards May 27 at the Hawai'i Convention Center. Kahoano, one of this year's recipients of the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts Lifetime Achievement Award, told the audience there was so much going on during the month of Mei (May), "we had to start in April!"
