» Kansas freshman Robert Kahana (Campbell ’11) allowed three hits, three walks and struck out three in four innings of relief; Michael Suiter (Punahou ’11) doubled, and third baseman Justin Protacio (Mid-Pacific ’11) scored a run in a 6-3 loss to Missouri State in the final game of the Jayhawk Classic on Sunday. Kahana earned his first collegiate save, retiring all three batters he faced in a 5-2 win over Air Force in Kansas’ first game of the tournament on Friday.
» Loyola Marymount junior outfielder Zac Fujimoto (Maryknoll ’08) went 4-for-10 with a double, triple, two runs and six RBIs in a three-game sweep at the hands of Long Beach State over the weekend.
» UNLV senior shortstop Danny Higa (Saint Louis ’08) hit a solo home run to lead off a four-run ninth inning for the Rebels, who came from behind to defeat San Diego State 5-4 on Sunday. Higa finished 3-for-11 with a double and two RBIs in the series.
» Southern Utah junior Kelsey Outram (‘Iolani ’08) gave up four runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings of a 4-1 loss to North Dakota State on Saturday. Senior Mitchell Kauweloa (Kamehameha ’07) went 3-for-14 with an RBI and Justin Neuhart (Molokai ’07) was 3-for-11 with an RBI to help the Thunderbirds earn a four-game split.
» Pacific (Ore.) pitcher Rob Dittrick (Mid-Pacific ’09) was named to the All-Northwest Conference first team on Friday. Dittrick was 8-2 with a 2.87 ERA this season. He led the conference in wins and was second with five complete games, striking out 54 in 75⅓ innings. Boxers outfielder Nick Tasaka (Mid-Pacific ’09) was named to the second team and first baseman Mike Nagamine (Mid-Pacific ’08) was honorable mention.
» Northern Colorado freshman Jensen Park (‘Iolani ’11) went 7-for-16 with a double, two triples, three runs and four RBIs to help the Bears take three of four games against Chicago State over the weekend. Fellow freshman Ryan Yamane (Punahou ’11) went 5-for-14 with a double, triple and five runs scored.

» Brigham Young sophomore first baseman Katie Manuma (Campbell ’10) went 4-for-8 with three solo home runs in a three-game sweep of Nevada to help the Cougars close the regular season on an 11-game winning streak. BYU is the No. 2 seed in this week’s Western Athletic Conference tournament.
» Mississippi State senior Ka’ili Smith (Kapolei ’08) hit a two-run homer in a 3-1 victory over Auburn on Friday
» East Carolina junior Kai Clark (Kapolei ’09) went 5-for-9 with a double, home run, stolen base, two RBIs and four runs scored to help the Pirates finish their regular season by winning two of three games against Memphis over the weekend. Sophomore Kristi Oshiro (Mililani ’10) scored twice and Rebecca Lee (Mililani ’10) and Chelsea Kaluhiokalani-Glackin (St. Francis ’10) each scored once for the Pirates.
» New Mexico State third baseman Briana Tovio-Asato (Kapolei ’11) went 3-for-8 with two walks as the Aggies lost two of three against San Jose State over the weekend.
» Menlo (Calif.) junior Ululani Reyes (St. Francis ’09) was named first-team All-California Pacific Conference on Monday. Reyes led the team with a .469 on-base percentage, hitting .290 with nine extra-base hits.
» Pacific Lutheran shortstop Lindsey Matsunaga (Kaimuki ’10) was named to the All-Northwest Conference first team last week for the second time. Matsunaga hit .263 with six homers and 33 RBIs. Lutes junior Glenelle Nitta (Mililani ’09) earned honorable-mention honors after making the first team last year.
» St. Martin’s (Wash.) junior first baseman Joslyn Eugenio (Sacred Hearts ’09) was named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference second team last week. Eugenio started 50 of 51 games and hit .353, leading the team with 19 doubles and 43 RBIs.
» Angelo (Texas) State senior DeeshanaLynn Tafiti (Waimea ’08) hit a three-run homer in the top of the eighth inning to send the Rambelles to a 5-2 win over Texas Woman’s University on Saturday in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional. Third baseman Elsamartina Apo (Waipahu ’08) hit a two-run homer in Sunday’s 5-2 win over St. Edward’s to advance to the South Central Super Regional that begins Friday.

» Claremont-Mudd-Scripps junior Kristin Lim (Punahou ’09) won both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches and freshman Sarah Kukino (Kauai ’11) won at both No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles to help the Athenas defeat Pomona-Pitzer 5-4 on Saturday to win the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. CMS was chosen to host the opening rounds of the NCAA Division III championships, beginning Friday.

» Southern California freshman setter Micah Christenson (Kamehameha ’11) had 48 assists, five blocks and two digs and Maddison McKibbin (Punahou ’09) had four digs, two kills and a block assist to help the Trojans defeat Lewis in four sets in the semifinals of the NCAA final four on Friday. Christenson had 38 assists, three digs and two block assists, McKibbin had three kills and Ben Lam (Punahou ’11) added one as the Trojans were swept by UC Irvine in the championship game on Saturday.
» New Jersey Institute of Technology junior Brady Smith (Waiakea ’09) ended the season as the national leader in digs per set at 2.77. Smith, a 6-foot libero, had 302 digs in 109 sets, which was the best among all Division I players. Smith posted double-digit digs in 19 of 29 matches and was named second team All-Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association.
