Man charged in kidnap attempt
An 18-year-old Moiliili man was charged Tuesday with trying to kidnap and rob a woman by placing a bag over her head Monday morning in a parking lot at Ala Moana Center.
Bail is set at $100,000 for Christopher K. Estoy, who is charged with attempted kidnapping and robbery. He appeared Wednesday morning in Honolulu District Court. His preliminary hearing is set for Friday.
A 29-year-old woman told police a man followed her to her parked car at 7:30 a.m. When she confronted him, he denied following her, but then placed a bag over her head. The woman said she dropped to her knees to fight off her attacker.
