The Hawaii Publishers Association announced the winners of the 27th annual Pa‘i awards at a luncheon Wednesday at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. First place for spot news reporting went to West Hawaii Today while the Hawaii Tribune-Herald took second place. Honolulu Magazine won both first and second place for editorial feature.
Ted Dixon, publisher of the Hawaii Tribune-Herald and current president of the Hawaii Publishers Association, said this year’s Pa‘i awards were a good representation of the high-quality work being done in the state. "I was very happy with the results," Dixon said.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser and the Maui News did not submit entries. For a complete list of winners, see hawaiipublishersassociation.com.
