Missing Waipahu woman’s sons help pass out flyers
Family members of a 39-year-old mother of three posted missing persons fliers in Kapolei on Saturday as police continued their search for the Waipahu woman.
Loida Gabon Wideman disappeared on Mother’s Day.
Her brother, Junior Gabon, said he had not received any updates from the police Saturday.
Police continued their search for Wideman on Saturday morning. It’s unclear if the search will resume today.
Gabon said Wideman’s family posted fliers in Kapolei businesses Saturday asking for help in finding Wideman. The family will post fliers in Waipahu and Pearl City today.
Wideman, the mother of three boys, ages 5, 7, and 11, disappeared the evening of May 13.
Police said she left her Kahualena Street home for work about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, but never showed at Ka Punawai Ola, where she works part time as a certified nurse’s assistant.
Her mother, who lives with her, became worried when she failed to return home at 6:30 a.m. Monday.
On Wednesday, police found Wideman’s car about 11⁄2 miles from her home.
The car, parked on the street in a busy area, appeared to be in good condition.
Meanwhile, Wideman’s ex-husband, Lonnell Reginald Wideman, was arrested Friday for violating terms of his parole.
Police have said he is not a suspect in Loida Wideman’s disappearance.
