Dolan eighth in 200-meter kayak final
Kailua’s Ryan Dolan finished eighth Sunday in kayaking’s K-1 200-meter C Final at the ICF Sprint World Cup No. 1 in Poznan, Poland.
Dolan’s time was 39.426, just behind American teammate Tim Hornsby (39.314), who was seventh.
The two are competing for the lone U.S. men’s slot at the Olympics, which Dolan earned by winning a bronze medal at the Pan Am Games. The two Americans had comparable times all weekend, but did not qualify for an A or B final, so their competition for the Olympic slot moves on to next weekend’s World Cup No. 2 in Duisburg, Germany.
