PUNCH OPENS M WITH PRIVATE PARTY
1. M Honolulu general manager Dan Punch got some love from Jody Kodoyama, left, Lisa Ha, Rachel Grahm and Krystal Mears at the private pre-opening party for the new nightclub May 17 at Waterfront Plaza. Guests at the private party picked up packets of special-edition M&Ms printed with a single "M" commemorating the event.

'BATTLESHIP' REUNION AT J.J. DOLAN'S
5. Monica Parise, left, Teddy Wells, Joji Yoshida, Wendy Pearson and Michael Snoopy Wells were among the celebrants at the " 'Battleship" Cast & Crew Reunion" Monday at J.J. Dolan's on Bethel Street. Many Hawaii-resident actors who had speaking parts when the movie was in production ended up on the cutting-room floor, but Yoshida can be seen in several scenes in the theatrical release.

3. Flash Hansen welcomed Cherry Blossom Cabaret stars Miss Catwings, left, and Violetta Baretta to "MenageA3: Animal Instinct," a burlesque-themed party May 19 at Apartment3. Miss Catwings rewarded partiers who'd arrived fashionably on time for the event with her animated update on the classic G-rated fan dance.

BIRTHDAYS BENEFIT WAIKIKI HEALTH CENTER
4. D. Tafa'i Silipa, center, was one of the many prominent Hawaii stage actors who were in the house when Pedro Haro, left, and Larry Paxton celebrated their recent birthdays May 19 at Chiko's Tavern in McCully. Haro and Paxton asked that any money that might be spent on gifts instead be donated to the Waikiki Health Center -- more than $1,000 was collected.

SMOKEY SMOOTH IN BLAISDELL ONE-NIGHTER
2. Smokey Robinson talked backstage with Star Miranda, left, Jewel McDonald and Anita Motte after his smooth two-hour concert Tuesday in the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall. Motte is a longtime friend of Robinson's wife, Frances Robinson, and they had time to catch up at the informal after-party backstage.
