Cyr tied for 68th after first round
Maui’s Samuel Cyr is in a tie for 68th place heading into today’s second round of the eGolf Tour’s HGM Hotels Classic in Conover, N.C.
Cyr shot an even-par 72 on Wednesday at Rock Barn Club and Spa. He trails the leader, Stefan Wiedergruen (65) of Germany, by seven shots.
Tadd Fujikawa, a Moanalua High graduate, shot a 1 -over 73 and is tied for 86th.
Rainbow Wahine in seventh place
The Hawaii women’s sailing team is in seventh place after the first day of the Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s National Championship semifinals at Lake Travis in Austin, Texas.
The Rainbow Wahine totaled 98 points, 28 points behind first-place College of Charleston. The top nine teams after today’s races will advance to the finals.
In the A division, UH is in fourth place with 46 points. In the B division, the Rainbow Wahine are in seventh place with 52 points.
The UH sailors are Madeline Kennedy, Lani Johnson, Lindsay Stewart, Hanne Nagatani and Bree Nidds.
This is the 13th time in the last 15 years that the Rainbow Wahine are competing in nationals.
