1 pedestrian is killed, another hurt by car in Wahiawa

A pedestrian was killed late Saturday and another critically injured when they were hit by car in Wahiawa.

The pedestrians, a man and woman, had been arguing on the grass median and ran into the road, police said.

A 31-year-old, male pedestrian from Wahiawa was taken to Wahiawa General Hospital and pronounced dead following the accident, officials reported.

A woman pedestrian, 28, also of Wahiawa, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.

Police closed Wilikina Drive near the H-2 onramp to investigate.

Police said the accident occurred at 11:23 p.m. Saturday when a 34-year old man driving a 2006 grey Nissan collided with the two pedestrians.

The 34-year-old driver, of Honolulu, was not injured, and police said speed, drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
