Smoking lessons

Martin & MacArthur will host Kauai Cigar Co. operations manager Tai Erum, who will demonstrate the hand-rolling technique used for the retailer’s exclusive Makaleha cigar and answer questions about the cultivation of Hawaii tobacco and cigar-making.

The demonstration will take place in the Ala Moana Center store from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The cigars are available at Martin & MacArthur stores statewide at $17.90 for a single cigar or in packs of three, six or 20.

Available only at the Ala Moana store is a new curly koa humidor for $750.

Mall salutes dads

Windward Mall hosts the Hawai’i Coalition for Dads’ Celebrate Fathers event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The annual event allows families to give thanks to fathers, grandfathers and father figures while enjoying family-friendly activities. One of the highlights is the Father-Child Look-alike Contest starting at 1 p.m. Enter at Center Court on the day of the event.

The winning pair will receive a Panasonic Viera 32-inch television; second prize is a Nintendo Wii; third prize is a $100 Macy’s gift card. Seven runners-up will receive $25 Gyu Kaku gift cards.
