Bus system overhaul has riders crying ‘rail’

    Recent changes to the city's bus schedule and the elimination of some routes have led to crowded conditions and rider frustration. This bus was standing room only early Friday afternoon as it traveled west on King Street toward Liliha.

    City buses have become more crowded in the wake of route and schedule changes earlier this month, and more adjustments are on the way in August. Fellow bus riders cleared a path for Joann Sabanal, who held on to her 2-year-old daughter, Genesis Wise, as she attempted to exit a Route A City Express bus. Her son, Calvin Sabana, 17, stood behind her after unhooking the belt that anchored her wheelchair.
