Firefighters monitor wildfire
Hawaii island firefighters planned to monitor a small wildfire in Kau overnight Saturday.
The 60-acre fire was smoldering about 4 p.m. Saturday, with hot spots in a ravine and small fires in the Mauna Loa Macada-mia Nut orchard, firefighters said. Firefighters planned to watch the fire along the highway and perimeter overnight to prevent it from spreading.
The fire started about 10:30 a.m. Friday.
