Former UH standout Amis retires from hoops
Former University of Hawaii basketball forward Bill Amis has decided to cut short his overseas pro hoops career and take a job in the Honolulu real estate market, he announced on Sunday.
Amis, who finished his UH career as an All-WAC second teamer under coach Gib Arnold in 2011, was coming off a stellar first season as a pro in which he was named All-Estonian League and All-Baltic League for club Tartu Ulikool in Estonia.
"This was a tough decision but I know that this is the best for me going forward," Amis said. "This is a great opportunity to start a new career in a place I love. Thanks to everyone who supported me during my basketball career and I’ll see you at the UH games."
