A husband and wife who defrauded Hawaii residents in a mortgage scheme and who have been on the run for two years will be profiled on a national television show this week in an attempt to get tips to their whereabouts.
John Michael and Julieanne Baldueza Dimitrion, who are the focus of a new CNBC program, "American Greed: The Fugitives," fled the state after pleading guilty to operating the fraudulent scheme.
The scheme involved persuading homeowners to relinquish their homes with the promise of improving their financial position.
"The Dimitrions used the victims’ money to fund their own lavish lifestyles," the FBI said in a news release.
A number of people lost their homes as a result of the Dimitrions’ crimes, the FBI said.
The CNBC program is scheduled to air at 2, 3 and 6 p.m. Hawaii time Wednesday and 4 and 7 p.m. Sunday.

The Dimitrions were scheduled to be sentenced in U.S. District Court in Honolulu on July 6, 2010, but didn’t show up.
Warrants have been issued for their arrest, and the FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to their capture.
They were last seen on July 2, 2010, at church services at the Mililani Recreation Center, the FBI said.
The FBI said the couple was last known to be hiding in Alabama in 2011.
John Dimitrion is 34 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Julieanne Baldueza Dimitrion is 32 years old, 4 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs 170 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
John Dimitrion is known to have expensive tastes in sports cars, and his wife enjoys buying designer purses and shoes. The FBI said its fraud investigation found that she spent "tens of thousands of dollars on lingerie from expensive boutiques and actually sought to declare this lingerie as a business expense on her taxes."
Anyone recognizing the Dimitrions or having information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Honolulu FBI at 566-4300.
FBI officials suspect the two may have joined a domestic extremist group affiliated with the Sovereign Citizen Movement, which arranged for the couple to be flown from Hawaii to the mainland on a private jet.
