» Two-time All-Star outfielder Shane Victorino (St. Anthony) was traded from Philadelphia to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Victorino, who becomes a free agent at the end of the season, homered in his final game with the Phillies on Sunday.

» Oakland traded catcher Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin) to the Washington Nationals for minor league catcher David Freitas (University of Hawaii) on Friday. Suzuki had lost his starting spot for the A’s but has hit safely in his last five games. Freitas has hit .276 in the minors since being drafted in the 15th round of the 2010 MLB draft and was assigned to Double-A Midland in the Texas League.

» Pitcher Brandon League (Saint Louis) was traded from Seattle to the Los Angeles Dodgers for two minor-league prospects on Monday. League was involved in a combined no-hitter with five other pitchers against the Dodgers in June.

» Triple-A Sacramento first baseman Kila Ka’aihue (‘Iolani) has hit four home runs in his last six games, including two on Monday.

» Double-A Springfield second baseman Kolten Wong (Kamehameha-Hawaii, University of Hawaii) singled on Friday to extend his hitting streak to seven games.

» The Cleveland Indians traded knuckleballer Steven Wright (University of Hawaii) to the Boston Red Sox on Thursday for a Triple-A first baseman. Wright has been assigned to the Portland Sea Dogs in the Double-A Eastern League.

» The Chicago White Sox released Double-A pitcher Cameron Bayne (Saint Louis) on Tuesday.

» Class A — Advanced Charlotte pitcher Lenny Linsky (University of Hawaii) hasn’t allowed an earned run in his last seven outings despite walking nine in his last 112/3 innings.

» Outfielder Dayton Alexander (Baldwin) hit a three-run homer on Monday in his first game back in Arizona after being demoted from Single-A Vermont to the Rookie League.

» Pitcher Josh Slaats (University of Hawaii) has been placed on Tri-City’s seven-day disabled list.

» Missoula outfielder Breland Almadova (‘Iolani, University of Hawaii) has registered at least two hits in seven of his last nine games. Teammate Michael Blake (University of Hawaii) struck out the side Wednesday in his first inning of work in 26 days.
