» Two-time All-Star outfielder Shane Victorino (St. Anthony) was traded from Philadelphia to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Victorino, who becomes a free agent at the end of the season, homered in his final game with the Phillies on Sunday.
» Oakland traded catcher Kurt Suzuki (Baldwin) to the Washington Nationals for minor league catcher David Freitas (University of Hawaii) on Friday. Suzuki had lost his starting spot for the A’s but has hit safely in his last five games. Freitas has hit .276 in the minors since being drafted in the 15th round of the 2010 MLB draft and was assigned to Double-A Midland in the Texas League.
» Pitcher Brandon League (Saint Louis) was traded from Seattle to the Los Angeles Dodgers for two minor-league prospects on Monday. League was involved in a combined no-hitter with five other pitchers against the Dodgers in June.
