Man, 21, held for allegedly robbing store
Police arrested a 21-year-old man after he allegedly robbed an Ala Moana area retail business Monday afternoon. The man allegedly left the business about 12:30 p.m. with concealed merchandise for which he had not paid, police said. When confronted while leaving the store, the suspect assaulted a store employee, police said. The man was found and arrested on Keeaumoku Street about 3 p.m., police said. The man, of no permanent address, was being held on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
Woman arrested for causing car accident
A McCully woman was arrested Monday for allegedly forcing a car to hit a light pole July 27 in the Ala Moana area, police said. The 31-year-old suspect grabbed the window on the driver’s side of the car, causing it to shatter, injuring a 33-year-old man, police said. The man tried to drive away, but the woman jumped into the car, grabbed the victim and the car’s steering wheel causing the car to hit the pole, police said. The suspect then jumped into her own car and drove away.
Man on Maui is arrested in Seattle arson
AUBURN, Wash. » King County prosecutors hope to bring back to Seattle a man arrested in Hawaii in connection with an arson fire last month at an Auburn, Wash., storage facility.
Valley Regional Fire Authority said Monday that Michael Aguilar was arrested on Maui on a warrant accusing him of second-degree arson in the July 11 fire at Auburn Way Storage.
The four-alarm fire is blamed for nearly $1 million damage to the building and contents.
