$1,000 reward offered for robbery details
Police have released a sketch of the man believed to have robbed a Ward-area store Monday.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department have offered a $1,000 reward regarding information about the robbery at Rix Island Wear at 1050 Ala Moana Blvd.
The suspected entered the store at about 4:15 p.m., brandished a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot.
He is described as between 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing 160 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he had a mustache and beard.
Police Sgt. Kim Buffett, CrimeStoppers spokeswoman, said police are looking into whether the same bandit robbed Posh Liquor on Kaiulani Avenue in Waikiki on Monday and tried to rob Walgreens in the Keeaumoku area Aug. 18.

Suspect in kidnapping, assault is arrested
The 45-year-old man suspected of kidnapping and assaulting a woman last month in Wahiawa was arrested just after noon Thursday.
The man was arrested at 12:44 p.m. just after police issued a CrimeStoppers bulletin seeking help from the public.
He was arrested at an Ewa Beach home on suspicion of kidnapping and first-degree terroristic threatening.
Police said the suspect followed the victim to a store on Kilani Avenue on Aug. 31 and asked to speak with her.
The woman got into the man’s vehicle, and the two drove to an area near Kaena Point, where he allegedly assaulted her. According to police, he later drove her back to Wahiawa, where he again assaulted her, but she was able to escape.
The victim has a restraining order against the man, police said.

3 hospitalized after Jeep crash
Paramedics took three Maui residents to Maui Memorial Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon after a Jeep ran off the side of the road and tumbled down an embankment near old Maui High School on Holomua Road.
Five people were in the Jeep at the time of the 3:51 p.m. accident, said a news release from the Maui County Paramedics Association.
The Jeep rolled 25 to 30 feet down an embankment, where its front end ended up pinned against several large boulders.
All five occupants were able to get out of the vehicle. Paramedics took three men to the hospital in stable condition.
A 18-year-old man suffered chest and shoulder injuries, a 20-year-old man had an arm fracture and lacerations and a 19-year-old man went to the hospital with arm and back injuries. The three men were in the back seat of the Jeep and were not wearing seat belts, the news release said.
