The U.S. Marshals Hawaii Fugitive Task Force arrested 66 fugitives, including a 49-year-old man wanted for sexually assaulting a minor, during a three-day warrant sweep on Maui.
Alan M. Santos, 49, was arrested Wednesday on a $250,000 felony warrant for one count of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree sexual assault related to an alleged attack on a girl under 14 years old. Santos is being held at Maui Community Correctional Center.
The 66 fugitives arrested between Tuesday and Thursday accounted for 104 outstanding warrants. Those arrested were wanted for crimes including drug offenses, sex offenses, robbery and probation violation.
On Tuesday, officers arrested Bill Warner Manuel Jr. of Wailuku for 10 outstanding bench warrants for probation violation, criminal contempt of court and failure to appear. Bail for the warrants totaled $59,000. Manuel is also being held at MCCC.
The task force consisted of officers from Maui County Police Department, Kauai Country Police Department, Hawaii Country Police Department and Hawaii state sheriffs.
