Simon Fraser edges HPU in soccer

Carlo Basso, Lucas Ferritto and John Hodnett scored for Simon Fraser (British Columbia) in a 3-1 men’s soccer victory over Hawaii Pacific on Sunday in Burnaby, B.C.

Helge Neumann and Hodnett added assists for the Clan (3-0).

Heimana Chene and Daniel Haehre scored for the Sea Warriors (0-2), and Alejandro Porras had an assist.

BYUH sweeps Western Oregon in volleyball

Danielle Quigley had 16 kills and Shih Ting Chen added 14 to lead Brigham Young-Hawaii to a 25-19, 25-11, 25-23 women’s volleyball sweep of Western Oregon on Saturday night.

Samantha Ward led the Wolves (5-2) with 17 kills.

Melanie Manutai had 19 digs for the Seasiders (5-2).
