Boxing events on Molokai
Molokai will be the site of an amateur boxing card as well as a clinic for coaches and officials this weekend.
The Molokai Southside Boxing Club is hosting an event Saturday beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Molokai High. Officials believe it is the first event of its kind on the Friendly Isle.
Sunday’s free clinic runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Homepumehana Senior Center in Kaunakakai. The event is free, but participants must register with USA Boxing.

Honolulu Century Ride coming up
Around 2,000 bicyclists are expected to participate in the 31st Honolulu Century Ride Sunday Sept. 30.
The non-competitive ride offers routes of 20, 25, 50, 75 and 100 miles through East Honolulu and Windward Oahu. The ride starts at 5:45 a.m., and begins and ends at Kapiolani Park.
Online registration runs through 5 p.m. Sept. 28. In-person registration and packet pickup is Sept. 29 and race day Sept. 30.

Roller derby hosts 2-day event
The Battle of the Islands continues Sept. 28 and 29 with Pacific Roller Derby’s two-day tournament on Oahu.
The Sept. 28 card at Palama Settlement Gym features the Hulagan of Oahu against Paradise Roller Girls from Hawaii island, and Aloha City Rollers from Oahu against the Maui Owies. Competition begins at 7 p.m.
The tournament continues Sept. 29 at Kamiloiki Park hockey rink starting at 8 a.m. Also competing will be the Maui Roller Girls, Garden Island Renegade Rollerz and the all-star Bee-Team. The championship is set for 4:30 p.m. For information, go to pacificrollerderby.com.
Autocross at Aloha Stadium
Autocross, a solo competitive driving skills event, is set for Sept. 30 at Aloha Stadium.
Sponsored by the Hawaii Region Sports Car Club of America, autocross has drivers competing for best driving time over four separate laps. This is part of the qualifying for April’s championship.
