SUP To Fitness along Kohala Coast
Dozens of stand-up paddleboarders are expected to compete in Saturday’s second Hulakai SUP to Fitness Race along the Kohala Coast.
The 7-mile event also is open to OC1s, OC2s, surf skis and prone paddle boards. Depending on wind direction, the race will either begin at Kohala Bay or Kawaihae Harbor at 10 a.m. and finish at Mauna Lani Bay.
The prerace briefing is at Hulakai Store at The Shops at Mauna Lani. Entry fee is $20. For information: hulakai.com.
All-Girls Rodeo coming up
The 20th Hawaii Women’s Rodeo Association’s All-Girls Rodeo, featuring competitors from across the state, is scheduled for Oct. 6 at Kualoa Ranch.
The rodeo runs from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and includes the Zip Memorial Mixed Barrels Event and the inaugural HWRA All-Around Horse of the Year award.
Running in conjunction with the rodeo is the Kualoa Country Fair and film screening of "Paniolo ‘O Hawai’i."

Swimming Hall of Fame to induct 14
Fourteen individuals, including ocean swimming champion Rick Heltzel and masters swimming champions June Ford and Nadine Takai Day, will be inducted into the Hawaii Swimming Hall of Fame at the fifth induction banquet Nov. 3 at the Hale Koa Hotel.
