Hall, UHH capture Sonoma tournament
Hawaii-Hilo’s Jamie Hall won a two-hole playoff to capture medalist honors in the Sonoma State Invitational golf tournament in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Hall’s 5-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole beat Sonoma State’s Matt Medeiros and San Francisco’s Emil Liljeroth. All three golfers finished the three rounds at 6-under 210.
Hall led the Vulcans to the team title. Hawaii-Hilo had a tournament-low team score of 10-under 278 in the third round and finished at 8-under 856.
UHH’s Corey Kozuma tied for sixth at 4-under 212.
Sonoma State finished second, four strokes behind, and San Diego took third place at even par 864.
Brigham Young-Hawaii tied for 11th out of 13 teams at 41-over 905.
