Honolulu resident Jonathan Lyau was the first finisher during the 18th annual Komen Hawaii Race for the Cure 5K at Kapiolani Park. About 6,000 people participated in the event, which pledges to give up to 75 percent of the net proceeds from the race to fund local breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs and at least 25 percent to fund the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Program.
