Hawaii Pacific sweeps NDNU
Amanda Moriarty put down 10 kills and Chelsea Buyuan had 14 digs to lead Hawaii Pacific to a 27-25, 26-24, 25-16 sweep of Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, Calif., on Monday.
Haley Doerfler added nine kills and hit .444 for the Sea Warriors (11-7, 5-5).
Jennifer Jasper slammed 13 kills for the Argonauts (1-19, 0-11).
BYUH remains No. 8 in Division II poll
The Brigham Young-Hawaii women’s volleyball team remained eighth in the AVCA coaches Division II national poll.
The Seasiders swept Hawaii-Hilo in their only match of the week and improved to 14-2 overall. They increased their point total in the poll (575 to 588) and received one first-place vote this week. Southwest Minnesota State (21-1, 28 first-place votes) remained No. 1, and Concordia-St. Paul (18-3, three first-place votes)) jumped from No. 4 to No. 2. Washburn remained No. 3. Last week’s No. 2 team, Tampa (19-3), dropped to No. 6.

» Shih Ting Chen, BYUH: The sophomore outside hitter led the Seasiders to a sweep of UH-Hilo with 19 kills in their lone match of the week.
» Ying Chun Chen, BYUH: The sophomore setter had 41 assists against UHH.
» Pihanakealoha Kea, Hawaii Pacific: The senior setter led the Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week, averaging 11.7 assists per set.
» Bria Morgan, Hawaii-Hilo: The freshman outside hitter led the PacWest in kills per set (7.0) despite an 0-2 week.
» Michelle Tevaga, BYUH: The senior outside hitter had 14 kills and a block assist.
» Kasey Thompson, Hawaii Pacific: The 6-2 freshman right led the Sea Warriors to a 2-0 week, accumulating 24 kills, an ace, a block solo and two block assists while hitting .352.

Sanchez leads Hawaii-Hilo past HPU
Aaron Sanchez scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Hawaii-Hilo to a 4-1 men’s soccer victory over Hawaii Pacific in Hilo on Monday.
Rayden Bala and Xavier Fuerte also scored for the Vulcans (3-7-2, 3-6-2).
Guillem Vinas Marin scored the lone goal for the Sea Warriors (6-6-2, 6-3-2).
» In the women’s match in Hilo, Ashlyn Ubongen, Andrea Aguirre and Erika Ellis scored goals to lead HPU past UHH 3-1.
Taylor Rae Silva had an assist for the Sea Warriors (6-7-1, 5-4-2).
Gina Tumasone scored the only goal for the Vulcans (4-10, 2-9)
UHH’s Adrabi is goalkeeper of the week
Hawaii-Hilo junior Yonha Adrabi of Hollywood, Calif., was named the conference men’s soccer goalkeeper of the week.
Adrabi posted a 1-0-1 week with one shutout, an 0.45 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage for games played Oct. 15-21.
He stopped all nine shots on goal in a 1-0 win at BYUH on Wednesday and stopped four of five shots on goal in a 1-1 double overtime game against Chaminade on Saturday.

» Xavier Fuerte, Hawaii-Hilo: The sophomore midfielder scored the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of a 1-0 win at BYU-Hawaii on Wednesday.
» Sam Galloway, Chaminade: The junior midfielder scored the game-tying goal in the 76th minute to forge a 1-1 double-overtime tie at UHH on Saturday.
» Conor Knox, Chaminade: The junior keeper halted all 13 shots on net in a 0-0 double-overtime draw vs. HPU on Oct. 17.
