>> Oregon freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota (Saint Louis ’11) was named a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award on Monday. Mariota ranks 21st in the FBS with a 154.96 passer-efficiency rating and last Thursday became the first Pac-12 player in 10 years with touchdowns passing, rushing and receiving in the same game in a 43-21 win at Arizona State. Mariota played only the first half, helping the Ducks build a
43-7 halftime lead while rushing 10 times for 135 yards, including an 86-yard TD run. This season, he is 123-for-180 for 1,347 yards and 16 touchdowns and has rushed 53 times for 356 yards and two scores.
>> Notre Dame senior linebacker Manti Te’o (Punahou ’09) was named one of 12 semifinalists for the Butkus Award on Monday, honoring the nation’s best linebacker. Te’o had 10 tackles and an interception in a 17-14 win over Brigham Young on Saturday. Tight end Kaneakua Friel (Kamehameha ’07) caught a 2-yard touchdown pass for the Cougars.
>> Boise State sophomore safety Jeremy Ioane (Punahou ’10) made three tackles in a 32-7 win over UNLV on Saturday. Rebels linebacker John Lotulelei (Baldwin ’09) had a game-high 10 tackles and forced a fumble.
>> Oregon State defensive tackle Castro Masaniai (Waipahu ’07) assisted on three tackles and defensive end Devon Kell (Hilo ’09) assisted on one tackle in a 21-7 win over Utah on Saturday. Sophomore V.J. Fehoko (Farrington ’10) assisted on a tackle for the Utes.
>> Idaho senior linebacker Robert Siavii (Leilehua ’08) had nine tackles, including one for loss, and a forced fumble, and Solomon Dixon (McKinley ’11) made two solo tackles in a 70-28 loss to Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
>> Utah State safety Brian Suite (Punahou ’10) made six tackles in a 41-7 win over New Mexico State on Saturday. Aggies quarterback Andrew Manley (Leilehua ’10) finished 19-for-37 for 177 yards and a touchdown, and linebacker B.J. Adolpho (Kahuku ’05) totaled five tackles.
>> Bowling Green junior Chief Kekuewa (Kamehameha-Hawaii ’10) started at center in a 24-0 win on Saturday over UMass, whose starting left guard is true freshman Matt Sparks (Punahou ’12).
>> Weber State quarterback Mike Hoke (Kamehameha ’08) finished 16-for-28 for 206 yards and a touchdown and rushed 16 times for 56 yards and a second touchdown in a 24-22 win over Southern Utah on Friday. Junior Kela Marciel (‘Iolani ’09) added seven solo tackles for the Wildcats.
>> Chapman (Calif.) senior wide receiver Kali‘i Kunitomo (Konawaena ’09) had four catches for 51 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown reception, in a 32-13 loss to Redlands (Calif.) on Saturday.
>> Pacific Lutheran defensive back Sean McFadden (Punahou ’10) had nine tackles and broke up a pass in a 41-27 win over Willamette (Ore.) on Saturday. Senior linebacker Matt Parr (Kauai ’09) had four tackles, including one and a half for loss and half a sack, and Blaze Rogers (Lahainaluna ’07) made a solo tackle for the Bearcats.
>> Whittier (Calif.) sophomore defensive back Duke Aku-Harakal (Punahou ’11) assisted on five tackles in a 41-27 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday. Stags sophomore Alex Chang (Punahou ’11) assisted on five tackles, including one that went for a 3-yard loss.
>> Cornell (Iowa) College linebacker Geoffrey Miller (Punahou ’10) made 10 tackles in a 35-30 loss to Lake Forest (Ill.) College on Saturday.

>> Pacific (Calif.) senior Koala Matsuoka (Kamehameha ’09) had a match-high 23 digs, two kills and an ace in a five-set loss to Hawaii on Saturday.
>> UTEP junior Malia Patterson (Punahou ’10) tallied 52 assists, 11 digs and three kills in a five-set loss to Rice on Sunday.
>> Texas junior Sarah Palmer (Hawaii Baptist ’10) finished with nine digs and an ace as the eighth-ranked Longhorns defeated Iowa State in five sets last Wednesday. Freshman defensive specialist Kat Brooks (Punahou ’12) added six digs and an ace in the win.
>> UC Santa Barbara setter Ali Santi (Punahou ’11) posted a double-double with 40 assists and 17 digs in a five-set loss to Cal State Fullerton on Friday and totaled 42 assists, eight digs and three kills in a four-set win over UC Riverside on Saturday.
>> St. John’s freshman Shawna-Lei Santos (Sacred Hearts ’12) had eight kills, 12 digs, three assists and an ace in a four-set loss to South Florida on Sunday.
>> San Jose State middle Alex Akana (Kamehameha ’09) finished with 10 kills, two aces, a dig and a block assist in a four-set loss to Idaho on Saturday.
>> Fairfield sophomore Carsen Mata (Moanalua ’10) tied for a team-high 25 digs in a five-set marathon victory over Manhattan (N.Y.) College on Sunday. Juliana Behrens (Punahou ’10) hit .263 with six kills and one error in the loss for the Jaspers.
>> Puget Sound junior Christina Chun (Maryknoll ’10) racked up 13 digs and two aces in a three-game sweep of Pacific (Ore.) on Saturday, following up a 15-dig performance in a four-set win over George Fox University on Friday. Pacific (Ore.) freshman Megan Zablan (Kamehameha ’12) compiled a team-high 21 assists and seven digs in the loss, while teammate Marie Rewick (Punahou ’12) hit .136 with seven kills, two aces and seven digs.
>> Lewis & Clark sophomore Brigitte Russo (Punahou ’11) had seven kills and a dig, and senior Leia Matsunaga (Kamehameha ’09) made nine digs in a three-set loss to Pacific Lutheran on Sunday.
>> New Haven (Conn.) sophomore Kaulana Ane (Kamehameha-Maui ’11) was named the Northeast-10 setter of the week on Tuesday for the third consecutive time. Ane averaged 9.89 assists, 1.44 kills, 2.33 digs and 1.11 blocks per set as the Chargers won three games last week. They are on a 15-match winning streak.
>> Cornell freshman Brittany Kalepa (Kamehameha ’12) posted 21 digs and five assists in a five-set loss to Columbia on Saturday.
>> Texas Pan-American sophomore Krysta Freitas (Hanalani ’11) had a match-high 18 digs and setter Nycole Masaki (Kailua ’10) had a team-high 18 assists, five digs, a block assist and an ace in a three-set loss to Houston Baptist on Saturday. Freshman middle Haley Durham (Kaiser ’12) added two aces, two digs and a block assist for the Broncs.
>> Dominican (Calif.) University freshman Sari Kwan (Punahou ’12) finished with a career-high 27 digs, three aces and two assists in a four-set victory over Academy of Art on Friday.
WOMEN’S GOLF
>> Oregon sophomore Cassy Isagawa (Baldwin ’11) had the highest finish for the Ducks, placing 21st at the Stanford Intercollegiate on Sunday with a three-round score of 5-over 218. Washington sophomore Cyd Okino (Punahou ’11) finished in tie for 44th place at 10 over, and Pepperdine freshman Marissa Chow (‘Iolani ’12) came in 58th place at 13 over after a final-round 72. Waves teammate Alina Ching (Punahou ’11) finished in 86th place at 28 over.
>> Tulsa senior Kristina Merkle (Moanalua ’09) finished in a tie for 18th place at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic last Wednesday, posting a 9-over 225. Notre Dame sophomore Kelli Oride (Kauai ’11) finished in a tie for 43rd place at 13 over after closing with a 74.
>> Princeton senior Anna Jang (Punahou ’09) finished tied for first at the Lehigh Invitational on Sunday, but didn’t earn individual medalist honors after losing out on a tiebreaker. Jang shot rounds of 74 and 73 to finish 3 over for the tournament.
MEN’S SOCCER
>> Air Force senior Zane Dydasco (Kamehameha ’08) scored in the second half of a 3-1 victory over San Jose State on Sunday in the Falcons’ final home game of the season.
>> Army’s Jordan Lee (‘Iolani ’12) was named the Patriot League freshman of the week last Monday after scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Adelphi. Lee has played in 10 matches this season and scored once.
>> McMurry (Texas) senior Colin Lund (Mililani ’08) scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-2 victory over Texas-Permian Basin on Monday.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
>> Pacific (Ore.) freshman McKenna Davidson (Kealakehe ’12) scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Whitman (Wash.) on Sunday. Davidson scored her third goal of the season and second game-winner in the 81st minute off a rebound.
