Pumpkins cool, even in warm weather
When the weather’s been this hot and sticky, it’s hard to get into the mood of fall and its trappings — jack-o’-lanterns, for example.
But there’s one more weekend to beat back the Halloween humbug feeling by steeping yourself in homegrown pumpkins. Aloun Farms will host its yearly Great Kapolei Pumpkin Picking Patch, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. today and Sunday at the farm, 91-1440 Farrington Highway, Kapolei. Admission: $1.
For you city folk, you get off the H-1 at the Ewa exit, go down Fort Weaver Road, turn right on Farrington, and it’ll be on your right, down a ways.
