Screening of Elvis’ 1973 show to close celebration of singer
Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. today for the "Elvis Presley ‘Aloha from Hawaii’ 40th Anniversary Screening," to take place Jan. 14 at Blaisdell Arena. The event will cap six days of Elvis-related activities commemorating the 40th anniversary of his landmark Honolulu concert.
"Aloha from Hawaii" was presented to a sold-out crowd in the Blaisdell Arena (then known as the Honolulu International Center Arena) and broadcast worldwide via satellite to more than 40 countries on Jan. 14, 1973.
The 40th-anniversary screening will feature a remastered video of the 1973 show projected on multiple screens with Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Additional footage has been added for the show.
