HPU men’s soccer wins in two overtimes

Daniel Haehre scored two goals to lead Hawaii Pacific to a two-overtime, 2-1 victory over Academy of Art in a men’s Pacific West Conference soccer match Thursday at Atherton Field in Kaneohe.

HPU (8-6-3, 7-3-3 PacWest) and AAU (4-12-1, 3-9-1) played to a 1-1 halftime tie.

» Hannah Emmett scored in the 52nd minute as Academy of Art (6-11, 4-9) edged Hawaii Pacific (6-8-3, 5-5-3) in a women’s game at Atherton Field in Kaneohe. The Sea Warriors outshot the visiting Knights 14-6.

» Holy Names spoiled Brigham Young-Hawaii’s home finale 3-2 in a men’s match in Laie. Besser Davila scored in the 27th minute and Wil Barber converted a penalty kick in the 65th minute for the Seasiders (4-8-3, 3-8-2). Holy Names is 7-9-1 and 4-9.

» Terryn Soelberg, Brittney Evans and Tasha Campbell scored to lift Brigham Young-Hawaii (10-4-2, 8-3-2 PacWest) to a 3-1 victory in a women’s soccer match in Laie. Holy Names fell to 1-15-1 and 0-12-1.
