Waipahu man arrested in alleged shooting of companion
A 29-year-old Waipahu man is in custody after he allegedly shot a drinking companion Sunday night.
Police said the incident occurred at 7:25 p.m. near Hans L’Orange Park at a Waipahu home where the suspect was drinking with a 39-year-old man.
The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Charges of attempted murder are pending, police said.
Surfer accuses another of trying to push him underwater
Police are investigating a complaint by a 24-year-old surfer who said another surfer tried to push him underwater several times at Pipeline Beach on Sunday morning.
The victim said he was surfing 50 to 100 feet from shore when a 32-year-old man allegedly assaulted him and tried to push him underwater.
No arrests have been made following the 11 a.m. incident.
