The Hanguk Drama Hawaii fan club celebrated its 10th anniversary Nov. 3 at the Hale Koa Hotel with 220 Korean drama and K-pop fans in attendance.
Complete with cake, the luncheon was well orchestrated with a compilation of congratulatory messages from various Korean celebrities and a special plaque award to KBFD-TV for bringing the Hallyu, the Korean cultural wave, to Hawaii.
And the party wouldn’t have been complete without fans doing Psy’s horse dance to “Gangnam Style,” led by former after-school girl idol group Bekah.
Club president Nora Muramoto said, “Korean dramas have brought us together and teaches us about Korean culture, giving us a deeper appreciation of what’s going on. Family values and story lines keeps us hooked, and the dramas simply make us happy.”
Congratulations to Hanguk Drama Hawaii.
