Man arrested in alleged assault on officer
A man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a police officer in Kailua late Saturday morning.
The suspect, 24, was arrested on two counts of first-degree assault of a police officer at Uluoa Street and Kailua Road, near a service station and small strip small, about 10:10 a.m. The officer suffered only minor injuries, police said.
Suspect uses gun in attempted robbery
An elderly Kailua man reported being held up while walking on the street by another man holding a black handgun Friday evening.
Police said the victim, 79, reported that when the would-be robber demanded jewelry, he managed to get away from the suspect without giving up any of his property.
Victim in serious condition after attack
A 37-year-old man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition after being stabbed once and punched multiple times in Waianae late Friday night.
The city Division of Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene at Ala Akau Street shortly after 11 p.m., EMS said.
