Pro wrestling card stars Cross, El Generico
Tickets are still available to see two of professional wrestling’s biggest independent stars as they take on some of Hawaii’s own talent this weekend.
Admission at the door is $20 for adults and $12 for children for Action Zone Wrestling’s "Fallout" show, which gets under way today at 7:30 p.m. at New Hope Leeward in Waipahu. The show marks the return of fan favorite "M-Dogg 20" Matt Cross and luchador El Generico.
Former Ring of Honor star and World Wrestling Entertainment competitor Colt Cabana was set to make his AZW debut, but had to withdraw due to a hand injury that required surgery.
AZW heavyweight champion Kaimana will defend his title against El Generico in the show’s main event, while Cross will challenge Mark Anarchy and The Sexy Aleki in a triple-threat showdown. The card, subject to change, will also feature AZW wrestlers in singles matches, a tag-team title match and an eight-man elimination battle.
New Hope Leeward is at 94-050 Farrington Highway in the Waipahu Town Center. For more information, visit www.actionzonewrestling.com.

Choi shoots past Miyazato for Titleholders lead
NAPLES, Fla. >> U.S. Women’s Open champion Na Yeon Choi was steady after an early three-putt bogey and finished with a 3-under 69 that gave her a one-shot lead in the Titleholders.
Choi took over the lead early Saturday when Ai Miyazato made double bogey on the par-5 second hole. What kept Choi in the lead was not making many mistakes of her own. It’s been that way all week at the LPGA Tour’s final event. Choi is the only player to post every round in the 60s at The TwinEagles Club. She was at 12-under 204, one shot ahead of Miyazato, who rallied with four birdies on the back nine for a 71.
So Yeon Ryu, the LPGA rookie of the year, had a 68 and was two shots back.
Hawaii’s Michelle Wie shot a 71 to lift herself out of last place, a stroke ahead of Tanya Dergal.
