Wherever Poseidons go, there will be noise
Kaneohe and Kailua residents who have been worried about the basing of a new jet aircraft fleet at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe can probably exchange a few high-fives.
Though probably for reasons other than community concerns about flight noise, Navy officials are rethinking plans to locate 18 Poseidon jets at the base. A final decision is pending, but a supplemental environmental impact statement being prepared is examining an alternative siting plan.
But let’s be realistic: Some flight noise will continue to be an inevitable part of life near a military airfield. The Osprey aircraft and the Cobra and Huey choppers will be there. The "sounds of freedom" will still ring out.

Maybe it’s time to review Hawaii’s film tax credits parameters as to who is eligible — and not.
