Kekoa Taliaferro has stepped down as varsity girls basketball coach at Punahou.
The school confirmed that a change is under way, but would not announce a replacement as of Wednesday afternoon.
"We are in the process of a decision," assistant athletic director Kale Ane said.
The decision will be announced by the end of the week, he added.
A source noted that Courtney Robinson, a Punahou intermediate girls basketball coach, is the likely choice to take over the program. Robinson is a former director of basketball operations at USC.
Robinson spent one season as an assistant coach to the men’s team at Daytona State. Before that, she was an assistant at Stetson University, Cedar Ridge High School (N.C.) and was a head coach at Coatesville High School for two seasons.
She is a graduate of Kutztown University.
The source also noted that Taliaferro and the school parted on amicable terms and Taliaferro might return to the post in the future.
