Dr. Arabella Leet, a surgeon at Shriners Hospital, calls 6-year-old Darshani Sami’s progress “a remarkable present for us all." Darshani can run and walk now that surgery has made it possible for her to use a prosthetic leg.

Darshani was born with her right leg much shorter than the left, with only three toes. Surgery straightened her shinbone so that she could be fitted with a prosthetic leg.
