Patton youth clinics starting
Power Hour Training, a youth speed and agility clinic run by former Hawaii defensive back Kenny Patton, begins the first of 12 weekly sessions Sunday at Radford High.
Clinics run from 8 to 9 a.m. for ages 5 through 9 and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for ages 10 through 14. Each clinic is $10 or $90 for all 12 weeks through March 24.

Motocross track closing through February
The Kahuku Motocross Park will be closed from Monday through Feb. 28 due to use of the area by the U.S. military for training.

International field at 37th Gymfest
Twenty-eight teams representing four countries, Hawaii, Guam and the U.S. mainland will compete at the 37th Aloha Gymfest Jan. 18-20 at Le Jardin Academy.
Some 350 gymnasts are expected at the event hosted by Kokokahi Gymnastics Team. The international field includes Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Competition begins at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 18, and at 8 a.m. both Jan. 19 and 20. The session for the top-level gymnasts starts at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19.

World SUP Tour to open on Oahu
The Stand Up World Tour kicks off its six-stop schedule with the Sunset Beach Pro, Feb. 7-15, off Turtle Bay.
Companion events include the Na Kama Kai youth competition on Feb. 6 and the opener of the inaugural Women’s World Championship Tour.
The women’s competition begins with preliminary rounds on Feb. 6 with the semifinals and finals to be held alongside the men’s event during the Feb. 7-15 holding period.
Other tour stops are scheduled for Brazil, Australia, California and France through November. December’s championship location has not been decided.
