Producers of "Wicked," the hit Broadway touring show playing at the Blaisdell Concert Hall, are issuing one final reminder to people who have tickets for performances beginning Saturday evening: Those performances were canceled long ago.
The show was able to contact most ticket holders through outlets such as Ticketmaster, but there are "a few hundred people" who either bought tickets with cash or left no contact information and could not be reached directly, said Kristin Jackson, a local spokeswoman for the show.
The show canceled performances from Saturday evening through Jan. 16 because of the touring production travel schedule. Cancellations were first announced in mid-September. Shows were added in November to make up for the lost dates.
"Wicked" is sold out and ends its run Saturday with a matinee performance; the Saturday evening performance was canceled.
People who have tickets for the canceled performances should go to where they bought them for a refund, Jackson said.
"We’ve taken out ads, we’ve talked about it in radio interviews, we’ve done a press release trying to get the word out," Jackson said, conceding that "there will be people who show up to those shows next because no one was ever able to reach them." She expressed particular concern for people coming in from the other islands for the show.
"But it’s just a word to the wise to give your contact information when you purchase tickets," she said.
"We would love to accommodate them in other ways, and that’s either refunding or putting them into one of the other shows we have coming up, Blue Man Group or ‘Rain,’" she said.
"Rain — A Tribute to the Beatles" appears at the Blaisdell for eight shows May 14-19, and the Blue Man Group will give eight performances at the Blaisdell during June 18-23.
