U.S. NAVY PHOTO / FEB. 7, 2009 The Pearl Harbor-based guided-missile cruiser USS Port Royal listed to starboard as the USNS Salvor tried to free the ship after it ran aground Feb. 5, 2009, about a half-mile south of Honolulu Airport while off-loading personnel into a small boat. The Port Royal was among seven cruisers and two amphibious ships the Navy said it wanted to retire early in fiscal 2013 and 2014 to save money.
