'DOWNTON ABBEY' FANS GATHER AT PBS HAWAII | 1. PBS Hawaii President and CEO Leslie Wilcox, center, conferred with PBS executive Roberta Wong Murray and Kippen de Alba Chu, executive director of 'Iolani Palace, at the preview screening party for the Season 3 premiere episode of "Downton Abbey" Jan. 4 in the PBS Hawaii production facility in Manoa. Representatives of the show's local broadcast sponsors, PBS board members and major supporters were among the first in Hawaii to see the earl of Grantham, his family and their servants deal with a new threat to the abbey, a long-awaited wedding, a possible life-changing inheritance, and the arrival of Lady Cora's wealthy and insufferably rude mother (played by Shirley MacLaine).

5. Carlsmith Ball was amply represented by attorneys Erika L.T. Lewis, left, Christian Adams and Joanne Lo Grimes, right, and their guests, Muriel Anderson, center, and Robbie Kane. Grimes explained later that the attorneys and their guests had worked together as members of the Hawaii Host Committee for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in 2011. She also suggested "Downton Abbey" fans will enjoy series creator Julian Fellowes' writing for the 2001 British murder mystery film "Gosford Park."
