Several years after Wet ‘n Wild on the Strip closed, no fewer than three water parks are now poised to operate in the Las Vegas area. On the west side of town, Wet ‘n’ Wild Las Vegas (no affiliation with the original) is already under construction. The $50 million park built on 40 acres has been delayed and renamed a couple of times but is now expected to debut on Memorial Day. On the east side, ground has been broken on Cowabunga Bay, a $23 million park built on 23 acres, also scheduled to open on Memorial Day. MGM Resorts International has just said it is considering building a 5.5-acre water park at Circus Circus, though no firm plans have been announced. All will offer some combination of wave pools, slides, other water rides and attractions.
All-day buffet bump: The price for the "Buffet of Buffets" has been raised again, this time by $3 to $49.99, or $47.99 if you show a players card. The Buffet of Buffets offers unlimited access to six buffets at Caesars Entertainment casinos, good for 24 hours.
D Grill: A new restaurant called the D Grill has opened at the D in downtown Las Vegas, replacing the Courtyard Cafe. A new steakhouse and Mexican restaurant are also planned. D Grill and the new American Coney Island at the D are both open 24/7.
Donnie & Marie extend: Donnie and Marie Osmond have signed an extension that ensures they will perform at the Flamingo through the year. The duo originally signed for a six-week engagement in 2008.
Boyz II Mirage: The R&B band Boyz II Men will play a long-term engagement at the Mirage. The band will perform 78 shows in the Terry Fator Theatre on some weekends March 1 to Dec. 29. Tickets, which are on sale now, start at $39.99.
Question: When does the Nobu hotel open?
