Red car that left crash scene being sought
Police asked the public for help Monday in finding a red car that left the scene of a crash on Moanalua Freeway westbound Sunday afternoon.
The crash, near the Tripler/Puuloa offramp, sent a motorcyclist, a 59-year-old Kapolei man, to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition, where he remained Monday, police said.
The victim apparently crashed into a guardrail at about 1:38 p.m.
Police said the motorcyclist was seen racing his 1997 Harley-Davidson motorcycle through traffic against a red vehicle.
Police said excessive speed was a likely factor.

Man accused of making threats with gun
Police arrested a 38-year-old man who allegedly threatened three people in Kalihi with a handgun Sunday night.
Police said they were called to a Kalihi Street house at about 10:50 p.m. by two men, ages 41 and 39, and a woman, 41, who reported a man threatened them verbally while holding a dangerous instrument.
The man fled the house, but the suspect was stopped nearby and arrested on three counts of terroristic threatening and violating a protective order.
An ex-girlfriend of the suspect who was living in the home had a protective order against him.
Suspect in store robbery found in Nanakuli
A Nanakuli man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with a robbery case in the Ala Moana area several months ago.
Police said an employee at a retail store attempted to stop the man, 27, after he tried to shoplift items at about 4:15 p.m. Oct. 13.
The suspect allegedly used physical force to flee the scene.
He was arrested at his Nanakuli home at about 2 p.m. Monday.
He was being held pending a charge of second-degree robbery.
Mililani resident is identified as fall victim
The man who died after falling near the Makapuu Lighthouse trail has been identified as Mililani resident Michael Harlan.
Harlan, 27, fell about 30 feet while hiking on a paved trail at about 1 p.m. Saturday and was transported in critical condition to a hospital, fire officials said.
He died Sunday.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday, according to the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office.
Arson suspected in community center fire
Maui Fire Department investigators said a fire that destroyed two portable toilets and a restroom at Pukalani Community Center on Sunday night may have been intentionally set.
When firefighters arrived at the scene at 11:47 p.m., they found the roof of the bathroom engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished at 12:23 a.m. Damage was estimated at $39,000.
Alleged abuse of woman leads to arrest
Police arrested a 28-year-old man who allegedly choked a woman early Monday morning in Waikiki during an argument.
Police said the couple were arguing around 1 a.m. when the suspect allegedly choked the 38-year-old woman. The suspect was arrested on Kalakaua Avenue on suspicion of abuse.
