Baby Dino celebrates her first birthday in “Baby Dinosaur’s Lu‘au in Hawai‘i,” (Mutual Publishing, $14.95) which was authored by Leslie Ann Hayashi.
Dino’s relatives come from near and far bearing gifts such as pineapples and large pigs from a Waimanalo farm. Her cousin Kilauea-canthus lights the fireworks with lava and the Kaneohe-composagnathus family danced the hula.
The book uses colorful dinosaurs to share the importance of the baby luau in local culture.
Vibrant and fun illustrations were created by Kathleen Wong Bishop.
